Whole Life Insurance in Midland
A whole life policy keeps you covered for life as long as premiums are paid, and the premium never changes. It also builds cash value over time. Before you fill out any form, we walk you through how the contract works and what the underwriter will review.

What Whole Life Is and When It Fits
With whole life, your beneficiary gets paid at your death no matter what year it happens. There is no end date like a term policy has. The premium is locked in when the carrier issues the policy, and part of each payment goes into cash value that grows by the amounts listed in the policy's guaranteed table.
For the same face amount, you will pay more than you would for term life. That is the trade. It makes sense when you want coverage that never runs out, like money for a spouse, a business partner buyout or a child who will always need support. If you only need coverage while debts are high or kids are young, we will tell you term life is likely the better buy.
Our job is to make the rules clear. Every policy has underwriting steps, state-required disclosures and contract terms that decide what you actually own. We go through them with you in plain words so nothing in the paperwork is a surprise later.
What Our Whole Life Help Covers
- A needs check first
- Our first question is what the money should pay for and for how many years. The answers set the face amount and tell us whether whole life is even the right fit.
- Quotes side by side
- We show you whole life quotes from more than one carrier on the same face amount. You see the premium, the guaranteed cash value and the guaranteed coverage for each.
- Underwriting explained
- Carriers may ask for a paramedical exam, blood work, prescription history and driving records. We tell you which ones apply to your application before anything is ordered.
- Application review
- We go over every health and lifestyle answer with you before it is sent. An honest, complete application protects your beneficiary if a claim is ever reviewed.
- Beneficiary and rider setup
- We help you name primary and backup beneficiaries correctly. We also explain riders like waived premium on disability, and what each one adds to the cost.
- Delivery walkthrough
- When the policy arrives, we read through it with you and point out the free-look window, the contestability period and how policy loans work.
Signs Whole Life Might Be Worth a Look
Your term policy is ending
Term coverage that expires in your 50s or 60s can be hard to replace. Some term policies let you convert to whole life without a new exam, and we can check yours.
Someone will always depend on you
Some people need support for life, like an adult child with a disability or a spouse who has no income of their own. Coverage with no expiration date fits that need.
You share a company with a co-owner
A buy-sell agreement spells out who buys a departing owner's share and where the money comes from. Life insurance is a common way to fund it, and permanent coverage stays in force as long as the business does.
You want a fixed bill
Some clients just want a premium that never goes up. Whole life gives you that number in writing on day one.
You want to leave a set amount
If you want to pass on a known sum to family or a cause, whole life is a direct way to do it.
What Moves a Whole Life Premium
Once the carrier issues the policy, your premium is locked for good, so the facts on the application carry a lot of weight. The underwriter assigns your rate class, and we explain the reasons ahead of time. These are the biggest drivers.
Age at issue
The younger you are when the policy starts, the lower the fixed premium. Waiting a few years can raise it noticeably.
Health and rate class
Blood pressure, weight, tobacco use and medical history put you in a rate class. A better class means a lower premium for life.
Face amount
More coverage costs more. We match the amount to what the money actually has to cover, so you skip paying for extra you will never use.
How long you pay
Some policies are paid for life. Others are paid up in 10 or 20 years, with higher payments over a shorter time.
Riders
Each added feature has its own cost. We show the price of each one so you can choose.
How Getting a Policy Works
- 1
First call
Start by telling us what this money needs to handle. We ask about your age, health and budget, then say plainly whether whole life is a good match.
- 2
Quotes and a plan
We lay out carrier options and explain the differences. You pick one, or you decide to wait. There is no pressure either way.
- 3
Application and exam
We complete the application with you at your business or by phone. If an exam is needed, a paramedical examiner usually comes to you. Underwriting often runs a few weeks, and we check in with the carrier and call you with updates as it moves along.
- 4
Policy delivery
Once approved, we go over the issued policy line by line. You confirm the beneficiaries, the premium and the riders before it takes effect, and you still have the free-look period if you change your mind.

Whole Life Questions We Hear
How is whole life different from universal life?
Whole life locks in the premium and spells out cash value growth in a guaranteed table. Universal life gives you room to change payments and coverage, but its guarantees hinge on how well you fund it. We walk through both, and our Universal Life Insurance page has more detail.
Can I borrow against the cash value?
Yes, most whole life policies allow policy loans once cash value builds. Any unpaid loan and interest is subtracted from what your beneficiary receives. We show you how that works before you ever take one.
What is the contestability period?
For a set time after the policy starts, usually two years, the carrier can review a claim against your application. That is why we go over every answer with you before it is submitted. Accurate answers keep a claim clean.
Will the carrier want a medical exam?
It depends on the carrier and the amount of coverage. Smaller face amounts can sometimes be approved on health questions and records alone. If you are in good health, going through full underwriting with an exam may earn a better rate, and we tell you which route makes sense before you apply.
What if I stop paying?
The policy gives you options written into the contract, like taking the cash value or a smaller paid-up policy. We point these out when the policy is delivered so you know them ahead of time.
Do you work with clients outside Midland?
Yes. We help clients across the area, including Odessa, Stanton, Andrews and Big Spring, by phone or at their place of business.
